What is ERP?
The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Program - Financial and Human Resources Replacement Project is implementing Workday to improve the HR and Payroll experience for DWP. Workday will be replacing DWP's legacy and time entry systems. The goal of the ERP project is to provide a system that will enhance your experience, streamline and standardize processes, and provide timely and accurate payroll.
What is the difference between the City’s HRP and DWP’s ERP Program?
DWP has a separate payroll system than the rest of the City; as such, their Workday system and implementation are separate and occurred on different timelines.
Most City departments used the legacy system PaySR and time entry system D-Time, prior to the Workday implementation. When PaySR and D-Time were retired, the affected City departments transitioned to the new HRP system, Workday. This transition occurred in two phases: Phase 1 implemented Human Resources processes (replacing Form 41) in the Workday system and Phase 2 implemented Time Tracking, Absence, Benefits, and Compensation processes in Workday.
DWP utilized different legacy systems and will continue to use a separate system from the other City departments. DWP will undergo similar changes as it transitions to Workday, however DWP’s instance of Workday (configuration, business processes) will function independently from the City’s currently live Workday system. DWP’s Workday system is scheduled to Go-Live for the pay period beginning June 16, 2025. DWP employees will see their first paycheck processed in Workday on July 8, 2025.
Can I see my DCP elections in Workday?
Yes. In Workday, refer to the Benefits/Deductions screen to see your Deferred Compensation Plan election.
Note: The DCP elections displayed in Workday represents the monthly contribution amount based on your current biweekly contribution amount (biweekly amount x 26 pay periods and divided by 12 months). Although Workday displays a monthly contribution amount, DCP elected contributions will continue to be deducted on a biweekly or per paycheck basis. Refer to your paycheck to see your actual deductions. The contributions displayed in the Benefits/Deduction screen in Workday are informational only; you will continue to elect your deferral amount through your online DCP account at la457.com or by calling the Service Center.
Will there be any impact to my DCP contributions or loan payments?
Your contributions and any loan payments should continue without any impact. Contributions and loan payments will continue to be made via biweekly payroll deductions. It is important that you monitor your paychecks to ensure that your deductions are correct. The first paycheck that will be paid in Workday is on July 8, 2025. Please monitor your paychecks before and after this period.

What should I do if my contributions are missing or are incorrect on my paycheck?
Please alert DCP staff of the contribution issue by clicking the "REPORT DCP ISSUE" button above and completing the form.
While you are unable to make contributions outside of payroll deductions, DCP staff can work with you to ensure that your missed contributions are deducted or corrected on subsequent paychecks so that you meet your desired total contributions for the year or assist you with ensuring your amounts for subsequent contributions throughout the year are adjusted.

In order to ensure you are current with your loan payments, you may either:
- Mail in a payment with the "LOAN PAYMENT REQUEST FORM", which can be found here. For any questions related to this form or how to send in a payment, please call the Service Center at 844-523-2457 (available Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PT, except on New York Stock Exchange holidays).
- Set up a payroll deduction with DCP staff, who will work with you to establish an agreed-upon "payment plan" to have any missed loan payments deducted from any future paychecks (must be in increments of your loan payment amount).
For issues regarding a leave of absence and any missed payments, please contact a Local Retirement Counselor.
If you begin or return from a leave of absence, you must notify the DCP by completing the "LEAVE OF ABSENCE LOAN PAYMENT CHANGE REQUEST" form, which can be found here, to be submitted before and after your leave. It is your responsibility to ensure you are not behind on any missed loan payments; the DCP does not automatically place a suspension on your loan payments based on your leave status.
