Official Notice of Election and Sample Ballots

Official notice of election and sample ballots for the Active Los Angeles City Employees’ Retirement System (LACERS) and Active Los Angeles Fire and Police Pensions (LAFPP) Representative seats are now available. The term of each seat will begin July 1, 2020 and end June 30, 2023. Election day is Friday, May 15, 2020. In order to be counted, ballots must be received by the Office of the City Clerk – Election Division no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2020.

 VOTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR NEWLY ELIGIBLE ACTIVE
LACERS AND LAFPP DEFERRED COMPENSATION PLAN (DCP) MEMBERS

Active LACERS or LAFPP members who become participants of the DCP after Wednesday, April 15, 2020 and wish to vote, must obtain a certificate verifying their eligibility to vote by contacting DCP staff at (213) 978-1644. Beginning May 8, through May 15, 2020, participants may present the certificate to the Office of the City Clerk – Election Division to receive a ballot by calling (213) 978-0440 to make an appointment. The Office of the City Clerk – Election Division will provide voting instructions, an official ballot, and a postage paid envelope to be executed according to established procedures.

If you are an active member of LACERS or LAFPP who became a participant of the DCP on or prior to April 15, 2020, a ballot packet will be mailed to your mailing address. In order to be counted, your ballot must be received by the Office of the City Clerk – Election Division no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2020.
